Portable EV chargers are required to have RCD protection(One of the leakage protection devices). There are two levels of RCD protections:Type A(AC 30mA)/Type B(AC 30mA+DC 6mA),In addition,and all wall EV chargers are equipped with Type B Residual Current Device (RCD) protection, ensuring the safety of users and the integrity of the charging system.

During the initial stages of the EVSE industry, the majority of products available in the market utilized Type A RCD protection. However, as market regulations and customs controls have become more stringent across various nations, we strongly advise that all portable EV chargers adopt Type B leakage protection. This recommendation aligns with the certification standards of TUV, UL, ETL, etc.

For the customer dedicated service reminder, Type B RCD protection device than Type A is more in line with the specifications and the major certification standards, our company can supply both types of RCD protections according to clients’ needs.Upgrading from type A to type B will result in a cost increase. To ensure the normal production and supply of subsequent orders, kindly verify and affirm the specific type of RCD protection required, in order to prevent any potential losses stemming from this matter.
